Sustainability at Oriola
Oriola’s sustainability agenda has four themes: Environment, People, Society, and Governance.
Advancing a healthier society
At Oriola, we believe that a sustainable future starts with health. We advance a healthier society through our services and products and minimise the impact of our operations on the environment. Our core business, the wholesale of pharmaceuticals and health products, has an essential and positive role in society and people’s lives.
Sustainability is a key part of our business strategy. High sustainability standards allow us to fulfil our purpose ‘Health for life’. This means that we actively incorporate environmentally and socially responsible practices into our day-to-day operations and decision-making processes.
Sustainable growth and financial profitability form the fundamentals of everything we do.
Our sustainability agenda drives our actions forward and supports us in reaching our ambitious long-term sustainability goals. We create value for various stakeholders throughout the entire value chain from employees to customers and shareholders as well as the communities in which we operate.
Oriola’s sustainability agenda
To continuously improve our understanding of what is material to us while remaining attentive to our stakeholders’ evolving sustainability expectations, we aim to conduct a materiality assessment on a regular basis. Through this analysis, we can identify, evaluate, and prioritise the key topics in our value chain that are important to both our stakeholders and our business. This involves considering both the impact we have on society and the potential risks and opportunities that these identified themes may create for our business.
Double-materiality assessment
A materiality assessment was conducted in 2023.
Stakeholder dialogue
Continuous stake-holder dialogue is essential.
Value creation
Value through the entire healthcare value chain.
Our sustainability agenda was updated in 2025 based on the most recent double-materiality assessment and is divided into four sustainability themes: Environment, People, Society and Governance. Within each of the themes, we can play a key role in delivering services and products that enhance the health and wellbeing of both people and the planet.
We monitor our sustainability impact through long-term strategic targets that have been defined for each sustainability theme. To measure achievements, we have set strategic and operative key performance indicators (KPI) for each sustainability theme.
Oriola is committed to supporting the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our near-term and net-zero science-based emission reduction targets were validated in 2025 by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
