History for Oriola Sweden


1907 Kronans Droghandel, KD, was established from the Kronan pharmacy in Gothenburg.

 

1959 The pharmaceutical industry acquired KD from the Bernström family.

 

1970-71 Apoteksbolaget was established and acquired all Swedish wholesalers except KD. The single channel system was introduced.

 

2002 Orion Corporation, Finland acquired the majority of KD.

 

2006 The wholesale division, Oriola-KD Corporation, was separated from Orion and listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

 

2009 The “old” Kronans Droghandel was separated into two parts, KD Pharma, Mölnlycke and Kronans Droghandel, Stockholm.

 

2010 KD Pharma distributes to pharmacies on the deregulated Swedish pharmacy market.

 

2011 Oriola-KD Corporation consolidates its wholesale trade under a common brand - Oriola - and KD Pharma changes its name.
